Jamie's photo blog

The pictures I chose to use are my Jade plant at home.  They are not the greatest pictures I have taken, but they give the most comparison between them.  The other ones were of my son, and I am sure you will all be sick of looking at him, lol.  This this is the side view of my Jade plant, and it shows that it is fairly tall, but does not look that big.  I do think I used too much flash now that I am looking at it here.

This is a shot from underneath the plants (don't look at the spider webs, this is my back room).  From the first shot you cannot tell that this plant is as wide as it is.  I think it shows a totally different color and perception of the plant.

  1. The spiderweb gives it character, the shot from below makes the plant look huge, so if the plant is huge than the spider would have to be as well, maybe this is a plant in the Hogwarts' greenhouse, or in one of Tolkien's forests.

  2. Lol, thanks Jenn, any spider is big if you know what I mean.

  3. Though the first one is indeed a bit over exposed in spots, as you said, I like how the plant seems to grow out of the photo toward the viewer.

  5. I really enjoyed the second picture! The plant kind of looks tangled up. The flash gave it a great color and you can almost see the texture!! Great work!

  6. I really like your pictures! Jade plants are beautiful! I have a pretty big jade plant, but it's at my moms right now because we moved and it's to big for our living room, which is the only room that gets the best sunlight. I didn't want anything to happen to it! I totally see the spider web that you explained! It is still amazing me how through photos our perception of things can be so different! Great job!

  7. I really like the view of the of the top one. It shows texture and brings the plant to life.

If I had a son my entire album for each assignment would be pictures of him, we won't get sick of them haha. I love the energy photos of kids always have in them, always makes you smile.

  8. Jamie, I liked your second photo. The view of the leaves of the plant really make the color stand out and shine. The more people focus on the main object of the photo, the less the see of the backgrounds. Nice job!
