Two of these photos are old, but I really liked them for this assignment. I really liked the framing assignment this week. I took a lot of photos, but I ended up picking my favorite ones. Obviously the palm tree one is an old one, and the pond picture is an old one.
I like the one of your son, suspicious haha. The winter one is also really appealing. Great job with the assignment.
ReplyDeleteThe one of your son peeking through the table (?) is great, a real keeper. Sometimes just thinking about framing helps, like the one of the girl, not your daughter, right, your sister, by the pole railings and posts, very subtle framing and nicely done.
ReplyDeleteAs for contrast, yes higher contrast makes for rich blacks and crisp whites thus giving a bold firm feel, while low contrast is wishy-washy and rarely works. It works sometimes for atmospheric shots of mist, fog, snow, like your gorgeous snowstorm one. You can't get that sense of intense snow without a low contrast scene.
Thank you and that was a picture of my niece.
ReplyDeleteOh, nice S curve found in your river picture, and also obeying the rule of thirds, very nice. I also enjoyed the picture of the girl leaning on the wooden beam, it has nice composition and I'm sure it means a good amount to you.
ReplyDeleteThe child coming through the tunnel is kinda fun. it obeys the rule of thirds except that the kid is centered, but that looks good in this picture.
Josh
I really like the one of your son under the table. Its almost too perfect! Great job on all of them! Even though they are older pictures you still captured alot of what we have learned this week. framing, aesthetics and rule of thirds.
ReplyDeleteJamie, I too like the picture of the girl leaning on the wooden posts. Almost gives a western feel to the photo.
ReplyDeleteNice job Josh picking out the S curve in that photo it is fun to see these concepts in the pictures we and others take.
Our kids just love to help us with homework...cute!
